Walking on Water

Watch the full teaching here

October 13, 2019 // This teaching series explores the miracles of Jesus which come out of human desperation. Jesus walked on water to show three things: (1) Evil is real; (2) the God who triumphs over evil is with us; and (3) do not be afraid. God encourages us to have the faith to join Him. Peter’s perspective of what it meant for him to get out of the boat meant death, because as a fisherman the boat meant safety and the sea meant death. He would have had many friends die from drowning. He had to overcome this natural and justified fear, and trust that Jesus would be there when He followed. We have to apply this same trust when Jesus asks us to leave the safety of our “boats”. Matthew 14:22-33
