Bringing the Ancient Into Modern Times

Watch the full teaching here

October 14, 2018 // This is part six of a six-part teaching series on the early Church. This teaching encompasses everything learned in the previous five teachings to relate it to our traditional, contemporary, and new gathering called "Beginnings". Drawing from the liturgical Jewish service, the traditional service resembles the Church around the year 400 AD. The contemporary service is more like a service around 200 AD. The new Beginnings gathering looks is closest to how a service would have been just very shortly after Christ rose from the dead. We needn't put down less familiar or preferred styles of worship, rather give thanks that the Holy Spirit has equipped us to offer these styles to attract as many people to Christ as possible. Putting our comfort aside, we need to pray, give thanks, and rejoice in all that the Holy Spirit is doing through our Church. Deuteronomy 14:2; Psalm 84:4; Mark 9:42
