The Prayer of Meditation

Watch the full teaching here

August 27, 2017  //  This is part nine of a nine-part teaching series on prayer. The prayer of Meditation does not focus on the essence of God or the infinite depth of God, but instead the focus is on God’s redemptive deeds in biblical history culminating in Jesus Christ. The purpose is not to detach from our world of turmoil and confusion, but to attach to God. Find a quiet place with no distractions, keep your focus clear, be still and quiet, relax your mind, and don’t fear drowsiness – God knows when we need to rest. Mediation engages both our head and our heart in seeking a deeper union with God. Psalm 19:14; Psalm 49:3; Psalm 119:99
