Daniel in Exile

Watch the full teaching here

February 12, 2017  //  The story of Daniel and his friends is more like ours than some of the other stories in the Bible. 1 Peter 1:1, where our story begins to unfold, identifies Christians as strangers in the world. Daniel’s hometown was Jerusalem, and our hometown is the New Jerusalem, which Jesus is constructing for followers of Christ (John 14). Peter says we are “aliens and strangers in the world,” and Jesus tells us to be in the world, not of the world. 1 Peter 2:11 gives us more instructions about how to do that: 1) be careful not to get sucked into the lifestyle of the world, and 2) live a life that points others to God. Daniel 1:3-7
