The Innkeeper With Almost No Room

December 18, 2016  //  This is part two of a four-part series on the Characters of Christmas, who were real people with real feelings, goals, and decisions.  The Innkeeper: Sometimes we are too hard on the Innkeeper.  His inn was packed, and he could have easily told Joseph and Mary to go away, but something inside of him said he needed a place for them to spend the night.  This prevented her from giving birth on the street. Joseph and Mary would have normally stayed with their family, who had also come to Bethlehem, but they most likely did not allow Joseph and Mary to stay with them because of both families' shame and guilt over Mary's pregnancy.  They forced Joseph and Mary to fend for themselves, but the Innkeeper is the one that came through for them in their greatest time of need.  God will find a way when there seems to be no way - how can you be faithful to Him like the Innkeeper was? Luke 2:1-7
