MISSION, OUTREACH, &
EVANGELISM
Visitation Team: Makes regular visits to our members in nursing home and those who physically cannot make it to worship service on a regular basis; training provided
Follow-up Team: Contacts people who have not attended worship for several weeks to see if they need any help or have any concerns
New Visitor Follow-up Team: Goes out and visits with new visitors to our church
One-Day Local Mission Trips: Goes on local mission trips to area food banks, homeless shelters, disaster recovery efforts, etc.
Longer Mission Trips: Trips that last up to a week, either inside or outside the USA
Meadows Driver: Pickup and return residents from The Meadows on Sunday mornings

Volunteers willing to use their gifts on an as-needed basis for any of the following activities:

TEAMS
Education Team: Meets monthly to plan and oversee youth, children, and adult Sunday school; confirmation, vacation Bible school, and other educational events & programs. Meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm, except in June and July.
Finance Team: Meets monthly to oversee the church's finances, recommends an annual budget to the church council, monitors the church's income and spending and makes recommendations. meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm.
Lay Leader: Provides spiritual support and prayer for the church. As a member of the church council, this position helps the leaders focus on the larger goal of loving God and each other
Members at Large to the Church Council: Attends monthly church council meetings and provides leadership for the direction of the church. Meets on the Wednesday before the last Sunday of the month at 7:00pm.
Memorial Team: Monitors money that has been donated in memory of a deceased loved one and ensures the money is being spent according to the family's wishes. Meets as needed.
Nominations Team: Meets in the late summer to identify volunteers to serve on the various committees and make recommendations to the church council and church charge conference. Meets as needed.
Mission, Outreach, and Evangelism Team: Meets monthly to plan and oversee outreach and mission events that reach out in the name of Christ to our local community, state of Iowa, USA, and world.
Staff Parish Relations Team: Meets monthly to support and provide feedback to the pastor and the church staff, completes annual reviews, and establishes staff policies for the church. Meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00pm.
Trustees: Meets monthly to plan and oversee the repair and maintenance of the church building & parsonage; responsible for all contracts entered into by the church. Meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm.
Worship Team: Meets monthly to plan worship services and coordinate volunteers for worship; works with the pastor to provide the best worship experience possible. Meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 8:00pm.
Youth Group Team: Meets monthly to plan and oversee the youth activities, weekly youth gatherings, and youth mission trips. Meets on the first Wednesday of each month except June and July.
Young Adults / Young Families Team: Meets monthly to plan events, education, and support for the young adults and young families in the congregation.

TEACHING
Vacation Bible School Volunteers: Provides a week-long vacation Bible school in the summer. Areas include planning, crafts, snacks, leading, recreation, storytelling, music, setup & teardown
Sunday School Teachers: Teaches Sunday school to children or adults on Sunday mornings at 9:30; nursery, 3/4 year-olds, Pre-K/Kindergarten, 1/2 grades, 3/4 grades, 5/6 grades, 7/8 grades, high school, adult classes, and confirmation class adult volunteer

WORSHIP SUPPORT
Lay Liturgists: Reads the first part of the worship service information during the traditional service
New People Partners: Watches for new people to our worship services and makes them feel welcome, answers questions, and introduces them to the pastor
Nursery Care Providers: Provides nursery care during Sunday worship services, Wednesday evening activities, and on other special occasions
Communion Stewards: Prepares the Communion elements before the service begins and helps with the serving of communion
Greeters: Greets and provides the bulletin to people as they arrive for worship services
Hosts Lights altar candles before service and extinguishes these after the service; hands out bulletins; collects the offering on Sunday mornings; counts attendance and fills out record card; picks up attendance sheets
Contemporary Service Prayer Partners: Comes forward during the contemporary service opening song and pray for those who want to come forward and receive prayer

FELLOWSHIP
United Methodist Women: UMW meets at various times and is very active with many initiatives around the church; there are several Circles available for any woman to join; UMW serves the fall Chicken & Biscuit Dinner
United Methodist Men: UMM meets on the second and fourth Saturday mornings at 7:30am for breakfast, devotion, and fellowship

YOUTH GROUP
Youth Group: Meets on the second and fourth Wednesday at 6:30pm during the school year
Youth Group Volunteer: Various areas of support: providing food for dinner; teaching; driving for trips; adult helpers; chaperone for activities & trips; youth prayer partner (assigned a few youth to pray for)

PRAYER MINISTRY
Prayer Chain: This is a strictly confidential prayer chain that receives prayer requests for congregation members and people outside the church
Prayer Power Team: This is a strictly confidential, covenant prayer team that meets monthly to pray for the pastor, the church, and others; prays before worship services for people to come to Christ and for miracles to be performed; works together as a group to strenghten each other's prayer life and the power of prayer in our church

WORSHIP & TECHNICAL
ARTS
Music: Choir, cantata, or praise band vocalists, solos/duets/trios for special music, drummer, pianist, organist, keyboardist, guitarist, etc.
Drama: Writer, producer, director, actor/actress, costume/makeup, adult volunteer
Sound Engineers: Runs the sound system on Sunday mornings; training is required and provided
Projection Volunteers: Design slides that show on the screen, or operate the software during the service to display graphics & lyrics; training is required and provided
Video Camera: Records the worship services and prepares the recordings for distribution; training is required and provided
