The Prayer of Meditation

Watch the full teaching here August 27, 2017 // This is part nine of a nine-part teaching series on prayer. The prayer of Meditation does not focus on the essence of God or the infinite depth of God, but instead the focus is on God’s redemptive deeds in biblical history culminating in Jesus Christ. The purpose is not to detach from our world of turmoil and confusion, but to attach to God. Find a quiet place with no distractions, keep your focus clear, be still and quiet, relax your mind, and don’t fear drowsiness – God knows when we need to rest. Mediation engages both our head and our heart in seeking a deeper union with God. Psalm 19:14; Psalm 49:3; Psalm 119:99 #teaching #TypesofPrayer

The Prayers of Intercession & Imprecation

Watch the full teaching here August 13, 2017 // This is part six and seven of a nine-part teaching series on prayer. Intercessory prayer is done on behalf of others. We are called to intercede for others, just as Jesus intercedes for us (Hebrews 7:25). Did you know that Jesus is praying for you right now? This type of prayer can be a source of blessing for a person, the Church, and the world. It brings great strength and courage, and also great peace of mind and heart. The entire chapter of John 17 is one long intercessory prayer by Jesus. Intercessory prayer is has six qualities: it is sincere, discreet, sensitive, encouraging, organized, and committed. 1 Timothy 2:1; Ephesians 1:15-
